Wembley Visit

Wednesday, 11 August 2010

Pupils enjoyed a trip to Wembley on the evening of Wednesday 11th August to watch England take on Hungary in their first game since the disastrous World Cup Campaign. In total 54 children and parents made the trip which was offered to the school by the Football Association following the schools awarding of a grant of £3500 from the Football Foundation to develop football provision at the school.

Everyone had a terrific evening and for the vast majority it was their first ever trip to the national stadium. We had terrific seats and had a good view of Steven Gerrad’s two second half goals.

The visit marked the beginning of an action packed school year for football which will see the children attend match day events at Walsall and West Bromwich Albion and take part in a range of activities and tournaments. This will be greatly enhanced by our grant money.

Despite not arriving back at West Bromwich until 3am everyone agreed the Wembley visit was fantastic and many hope to play there themselves one day!
