On Saturday 12th May Mrs Clinton who is a parent and governor at our school organized a fun day at THe Gough’s Arms to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital. She asked Year 6 to help out and they did in many ways. Before the event many of the class came early to help set up and when the event began they ran a range of activities including penalty schho out, crazy golf and table top games. The sun shone brightly all afternoon and nearly £1400 was raised. Well done everyone.

Cricket Match

Thursday, 3 May 2012

On Wednesday a team of 8 cricketers along with Mr Mobberley, Miss Ellicott and Mrs Hill went to St Bernard’s School in Moseley to play in a Catholic Cup cricket match. It was the second successive year the two schools have been draw to play each other. Last year St Bernard’s won by just one run.

St John Bosco captain Amir won the toss and elected to field first. After 12 overs with St John Bosco producing some great bowling and a few excellent catches St Bernard’s ended their innings on 302.

St John Bosco took to bat and their scores were:

Christopher & Dylan 41

Luke & Elliott H 24

Mitchell & Elliott B 38

Amir & Megan 21

This meant that St John Bosco ended their innings on 324 – winning the game by 21 runs, producing some great batting and fielding and representing the school superbly. Well done all 8 of you. Round 2 awaits.
