Wednesday Night at Ingestre

Thursday, 14 February 2013

After playing hide and seek in the dark, we went into the basement to play pool and table football. Then we blasted out the tunes and had a dance with a bit of karaoke as a warm up for the big final night disco!

West Brom Schools Hockey Tournament

Friday, 8 February 2013

On Wednesday, Miss Ellicott amd ten children from Year 5 and 6 went to George Salter to play in a hockey tournament. We split our ten children into two teams of five; with each team having to play 5 matchesagainst 5 different schools.

Team one (Agata, Elliot, Josh, Ethan and Brad) won their opening two games, lost the third, won the fourth then unluckily drew the fifth.

Team two (Dylan, Abbie, Taylor, Alfie and Brandon) also won their opening two games, lost the third, drew the fourth and won the fifth.

Therefore, overall we won 6, drew 2 and lost 2 which was an excellent record given that we’ve not played much hockey before. Out of the 6 schools, we finished 2nd; only a point behind the winners.

Ethan Weinberg was our player of the tournament with an excellent defensive display, ensuring team one only conceded 3 goals in their 5 games.

SJB Got Talent

Friday, 8 February 2013

On Friday, we held our annual SJB Got Talent contest.

Once again, our children showed how talented they were with all sorts of fantastic acts. Well done to all of those that took part.

The winners were:

KS1 – Miss Griffiths and the Reception penguins

KS2 – Georgia, Ellie S and Sinead form Year 5.

In total we managed to raise over £100. Thankyou to all of the parents who supported us by coming to watch and to the children for paying to be in the audience.

Tag Rugby at the Warriors

Sunday, 3 February 2013

On Saturday we went to the Worcester Warriors stadium to see the Warriors take on Saracens in the LV Cup. The first half was very tight and exciting with both teams scoring tries.

Half time was the highlight for us though as we played tag rugby against Leamore School. The game started well for Bosco with Elliot Butler grabbing an early try. However, Leamore equalised to make it 1-1. We dominated the game and showed we were far more experienced than our opposition and eventually ran out 4-1 winners with further tries from our captain – Elliot Hill, Dylan Harvey and a second for Elliot Butler.

It was another great experience for us to play on the Warriors pitch and the children once again did our school proud.

After we had played, we watched the second half of the Warriors game. Unfortunately, Saracens were too strong and ended up 22-12 winners.

We all had an excellent time. Thanks to Mr Mobberley for playing us and Steve Joslin at the Warriors for giving us this unforgettable experience.
