Easter Bonnet and Egg Competitions

Wednesday, 27 March 2013

Today we’ve had a fantastic afternoon watching the Reception and Key Stage One Easter Bonnet parade and KS2 egg competition. Lots of children took part and the judges job was really hard as they were all so good.

Well done to everyone for taking part.

Whitemoor Lakes Day 3

Wednesday, 20 March 2013

Today we’ve spent the day at Cannock Chase. We’ve had a lovely time playing on the park, playing hide and seek, building dens, climbing trees and running round. The weather stayed decent for us too which was a bonus!
Just writing our letters home now so they will hopefully be with you tomorrow!

Whitemoor Lakes Night 2

Wednesday, 20 March 2013

Last night we had chicken, potatoes and vegetables for tea. Yum yum! Dylan spotted the chef and was so impressed by his big hat and the fact he was a real chef that he was desperate to have a photo with him.

We then did some games in the sports hall, played a bit of table tennis and pool and then phoned Mrs Stocking to sing her some of the songs that we’ve learnt.

Parents, teachers and SJB pupils please comment on our blog as we can read what you think of our trip.

Whitemoor Lakes day 2

Tuesday, 19 March 2013

This morning we split into our 3 groups and have done a mix of climbing, high ropes, fencing and challenge course.
Everyone has joined in fully and many have conquered their fear of heights!
After our lunch of pizza, we headed over the road to the National Memorial Arboretum where we learnt all about The World Wars and remembered the soldiers who fought for their country. It was an excellent afternoon where the children learnt lots and were fully engaged in what they were doing. We finished the session with a beautiful and moving short remembrance service led by the children. Thank you to the staff at the arboretum (who are all volunteers) for the brilliant afternoon we had.

Whitemoor Lakes

Tuesday, 19 March 2013

We’ve had excellent first day on residential. We arrived yesterday, settled into our rooms and then played some sports games.

After a delicious tea we had a camp fire where we sang, danced and played some random games.

All the children slept well and we impressed the Whitemoor staff with our morning run.

A very busy day ahead of us today but we are all excited about what the day might hold…
