Sandwell Tag Rugby Champions

Sunday, 26 April 2015

On Tuesday we went to Warley Rugby Club to play in a Sandwell schools Tag Rugby tournament.

In total there was 20 schools so they split us into 4 groups of 5 with the winner of each group progressing to the semi finals. We won all 4 of our groups games convincingly (5-0, 6-0, 4-0 and 3-1).

This meant that we faced Abbey Junior school in the semi final. This was a really close game that finished 1-1 so went to extra time. Fortunately, we came out on top in extra time, winning the match 3-2.

In the final we played against Tameside. Again we produced some quality rugby and ended up deserved winners, this time with a 3-2 result in our favour.

The whole squad were fantastic in earning Bosco the title of Sandwell Tag Rugby champions. We will now go on to represent Sandwell in the Black Country Games for the third successive year.

Special mention to captain, Nolan who led his team by example and Reon who was our top try scorer.
