Tag Rugby League Games

Friday, 30 March 2018

As part of a very busy day, we travelled over to Kings Norton RFC to play in the first of two nights which contribute to the league. Our A team played in the Cup competition and had a great evening overall, winning three out of four, with the other game a narrow defeat. Meanwhile, our B team showed massive progress since the last time they played and managed to win all four of their matches in the Bowl competition! Both teams played great rugby, conducted themselves brilliantly and have all put themselves in a strong position with half of the league games left to play.

Sandwell Basketball Competition

Friday, 30 March 2018

We brought two teams over to Oldbury Academy for an action packed morning of basketball. There were 14 teams there, including two of our own, sporting our brand new impressive looking kit! The games came thick and fast in order to accommodate two groups of 7 teams, with all teams playing six group matches. Our A team won one, drew three and lost two to finish fourth in their group. Our B team won five and lost one to top their group. This meant that our two teams had to play each other in the quarter finals. In a close game, our B team shaded it. They then went on to beat Lyng in the semi-final and play Moat Farm in the final. This was an exciting, close game. We looked like we would edge it for a while until they equalised near the end. Extra time still couldn’t separate the teams so we had to take sudden-death free-throws to decide the winner. Unfortunately, Moat Farm won the shoot-out. However, our children were fantastic all morning and did extremely well to both qualify for the knock-out stages, then for one team to make the final. Well done everyone!

District Swimming Gala Runners Up

Sunday, 25 March 2018

On Saturday, we brought a squad of children over to the impressive Abbey Stadium in Redditch for a four school gala. It was a special atmosphere, helped by a large crowd and the excellent support all of the children gave to each other, regardless of which school they attended. Our children gave it absolutely everything they had in the pool and in a close competition, we were delighted to finish in second place overall. We won a shield and lovely individual medals too. All of the children were a credit in terms of their performance, attitude and behaviour. Well done everyone and thanks to the parents and staff who attended too.
