Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament

Friday, 30 November 2018

Children visited Holy Cross Church to celebrate and participate in the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. All through Autumn term children have been learning about Benediction and how to pray with meaning. During this service the children showed great reverence in praying for divine help, blessing and guidance. Well done to all children who were extremely focused and demonstrated a deeper understanding of prayer.

Girls’ Indoor Football

Wednesday, 28 November 2018

We travelled to Wood Green Academy for a 5-a-side competition. One team unfortunately dropped out so we played two other schools twice. Although the rules are a bit different indoors our girls adjusted straight away and played some excellent football. We won our first two matches 3-1 and 2-0, with all girls contributing. The attitude and togetherness amongst the girls was excellent throughout. In the second round of games we won 1-0 then drew the last game 0-0 to top the group and reach the finals at the same time next week. Well done to all the girls and good luck in the finals.

National School Breakfast Programme

Wednesday, 28 November 2018

We are proud that our school has joined the government’s National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP), which is being delivered by the charities Family Action and Magic Breakfast.

We will be launching this initiative on Monday 10th December.

As a NSBP School we are pleased to offer a healthy school breakfast, available to all, and enjoy the benefits that brings, with children settled and ready to learn at the start of the school day.

We would like to welcome your child to join us for a great start to the day.

Our breakfast starts at 8.40am and is held in each classroom. We offer free bagels.

Maths Open Afternoon

Wednesday, 28 November 2018

Thank you to all of the parents who joined us for a fun and engaging maths afternoon on Tuesday. We had over 50 people in attendance!

Parents joined their child in class to look at (and join in with) a variety of times tables activities and mental maths games. The children loved having their parents in school and feedback from parents was extremely positive so a huge success all round.

Kitchen helpers

Friday, 23 November 2018

Using up their free time at lunch, helpful children join the team in the kitchen. Tasks range from cleaning dishes, drying cutlery and placing items back in their rightful place. Children are learning invaluable skills; whether that may be health and safety or responsibility and independence.

Year 3 Time Wizards

Friday, 23 November 2018

This week Year 3 have been learning about time. We have been reading the time on analogue clocks and even made our own clocks to help us with our maths. Here we are making times with our clocks.

Lower Phase Football Festival

Thursday, 22 November 2018

Our children had a fantastic time at the WBA indoor dome! We played in a friendly football festival and for most of our children it was their first experience of representing the school. I was impressed with the behaviour and the quality shown on the pitch too by all of our children. A number of children scored their first ever goals for the school and both of our teams achieved some positive results. A brilliant morning – well done to everyone involved.
