St John Bosco Catholic Primary School

Our final sports fixture of the year saw our girls travel over to Shirelands, to give our year 6 leavers one more opportunity to play together. Both schools brought big squads along so we played 4 quarters in order to rotate and give everybody lots of game time. The match itself was an exciting one with plenty of chances created at both ends. In the first half, Phoebe had a shot blocked on the line and Holly had a brilliant shot that hit the bar. At the other end, Lesharna made one outstanding save to keep the score 0-0 after two quarters. Following this, we began to dominate although Shirelands scored first with a great individual break-away goal. This didn’t affect us though as we continued to put pressure on their goal. Finally, Marnie got the goal we deserved and we went on to score two more through Holly and Lesharna, with excellent teamwork between the girls. It was a well deserved win and a thoroughly enjoyable way to round off the year. Well done to the girls and thanks to everyone who came along to support.
