What a wonderful day we have had! This term Years 3 and 4 will be reading the World’s Worst Teachers by David Walliams and today we celebrated our love for reading by dedicating a day to his fantastic book!
All the children come into school wearing spectacular outfits of the characters and some used their own imagination to think of their own world’s worst teacher! We had many creative ideas – from a spine-chilling Mrs Doom who punishes everyone for no reason to a hysterical Mr Clown who spends all day only telling jokes!
Throughout the day, we spent time reading our class books and doing a range of activities to reflect on what we have read, to identify some terrific vocabulary and most importantly share our love for this incredible book.
All of the children had an opportunity to act out Mr Pent’s Pants and perform freeze frames of their favourite parts of his story. They even had Mr Pent confiscate a child because of his spherical head!
Here is Master Pent being hit by a demolition ball!
We even re-enacted the scowling baby!
Each child created a storyboard to summarise what has happened in the class book.
