St John Bosco Catholic Primary School

It was a fantastic morning for us all at Bosco, getting to meet some of the Worcester Wolves players and coaches, as well as their impressive BBL Trophy! Coach Matt Newby and players Kofi Josephs and Jordan Williams delivered an assembly including some introductions, video highlights of the Wolves and a Q&A session, with a child from each class asking well thought out questions. This was followed by class photos with the basketball stars, before some of class 5 and 6 were fortunate enough to take part in an energetic and inspiring basketball session, led by Coach Newby. At this point, we were joined by Assistant Manager Dean Blake too. The children loved the basketball, with all of them thoroughly engaged throughout. The skill levels shown improved with each drill too, and some children really impressed the Wolves contingent. Two lucky children were presented with Worcester goodies at the end, for their high levels of focus and energy during training.

After an exhausting session, the basketballers all stayed for a school lunch in the hall with the children. This was a great touch and everyone loved having them there. Many children took full advantage and got to ask their own questions and talk basketball as they eat.

A massive thank you to everyone at Worcester Wolves. We loved going to watch you play, and are very grateful for the school visit. I’m sure basketball and Worcester Wolves are now even more popular at Bosco following today’s experience.
