On Wednesday 11th November 2020 we remembered all of those who have fought and died in wars. One of our parents Antony is the Bandmaster of the Band of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, Warwickshire. He kindly offered to lead a remembrance service alongside Peter a Standard Bearer in school. We met on the playground to observe the 2 minute silence and Antony played the ‘Last Post’ signifying the death and sacrifice of those who served in wars and then the ‘Reveille’ which signifies the resurrection and ascension into heaven. A group of year 6 children read the exhortation. It was a powerful and emotional service and we are very grateful for the opportunity.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. We will remember them.”
