As part of their work in Science, Technology and English Year 5 made kites to fly outside. This involves following a set of instructions clearly to produce their model. After some excellent building skills the pupils took their kites out onto the yard to test them out and see if they could fly. As it was a windy afternoon we hoped for some success and while some did fly well it was also an extremely rainy afternoon and this did affect the durability of the kites and how long some lasted. Nevertheless everyone learned a huge amount from the activity and enjoyed seeing their kite fly. Some of the class are going to try again at home at half term and hopefully test their new models on a dryer day!
