In Year 1 we have read many books about caterpillars including the classic, ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle and ‘The Woolly Bear Caterpillar’ by Julia Donaldson. This week, some small furry creatures arrived in our classroom and were met with great excitement. We have watched the caterpillars grow over the past week and the children were amazed to walk into the classroom one morning and find all the caterpillars tucked up in their cocoons. We have explored the life cycle of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly and cannot wait to see this in action.
