Year 5 Cooking

As part of our topic of foods from different countries and cultures, we made traditional English scones. It was great fun and the children calculated the quantities, read the scales and made the mixture themselves.

The finished scones were delicious with jam and fresh cream!

Hockey Fixtures at Four Dwellings

We have a group of children who have worked hard at hockey club all term and they were rewarded with some fixtures over at Four Dwellings Primary in Quinton. Both schools had two teams each playing four matches, so Bosco played Four Dwellings eight times in all. We started nervously and lost the first two games, but once we started to score, the goals kept coming. Overall we won 3, drew 2 and lost 3, so honours even. Our performances got better and better as the evening went on. Big thanks to Wednesbury hockey coach Paul, who has guided the group and turned them into an impressive team. Thanks to Mrs Briscoe for driving us there and back on the minibus too.

Key Stage 1 Football Festival

Some of our younger children in year 2 got the chance to represent the school and compete in a football festival at the WBA Dome. They all had a great time, playing four matches and the whole team improved each game. Well done to all of them.

PE Day with Sandwell Leisure Trust

A huge thank you to staff from Sandwell Leisure Trust for our PE day on Tuesday. Each class had a really fun and engaging PE lesson. Feedback from all staff and pupils was really positive.

In maths today, Year Six had to weigh and measure ingredients, read scales and calculate proportion. The children were given the recipe for 20 people and had to recalculate it for 15 people before they could begin preparing the cookies.

England Ladies Football Trip

We took our girls’ football squad to Walsall FC to watch England Ladies v Bosnia. It was a great evening as everyone got a free flag to cheer the ladies on and there was plenty of goal mouth action with England winning 4-0! We got to meet the mascots, England player Karen Carney and one of the BBC tv presenters, former England player Alex Scott. Our girls behaved very well and had a really enjoyable night. Thanks to Mrs Brierley and Mrs Kenny for coming with us.

Superhero Maths Day

Today we have been taught by superheroes!

The whole school has come dressed as superheroes for a fun maths day.

We did lots of different activities throughout the morning with a focus on learning times tables.

After the activities we had an assembly in the hall where some children were picked out to win maths prizes for trying really hard or for doing super maths work.

Well done to these Reception, Y1 and Y2 children.

Well done to these KS2 children.

Y6 then went back to class to write about what they had been doing.

Thank you to all the children for working really hard and behaving so well; the staff for their hard work in preparing the day and the parent volunteers who helped to ensure that the day ran smoothly.

Majestic Musical Instruments

Over the past few weeks, Year 1 have been learning about the human body and the senses we all have. Today, we not only explored all the different sorts of noises we can hear, but made our very own musical instruments and played them as a class band!

Today, the early morning Cooking Club Crew created delicious butterfly cupcakes that were very much appreciated by all. These group of children have spent the past 4 weeks creating food they like to eat and yummy treats they have baked. It will culminate with a banquet meal prepared by these chefs in the coming weeks.
