Sports Awards

Thursday, 12 July 2018

To celebrate such a fantastic year, we held our first ever sports awards. It was well attended by parents and families and enjoyed by the whole school. It recognised our collective achievements and we had team photos with all of our squads across the 14 different sports we’ve competed in. We are proud that over 130 different children have represented the school this year and more importantly, the conduct of our children has been exemplary throughout. We have been successful but learnt many things along the way and had a lot of fun too.

The awards also recognised a number of individual year 6 children for their achievements, attitude and commitment to sport. A big well done to all of our award winners, everyone who represented the school this year and to all the staff and families who made it all happen.

Basketball Festivall

Tuesday, 10 July 2018

A number of our children played in a basketball festival after school this evening. Unfortunately, a couple of other schools dropped out so we played amongst ourselves. The children were split into 4 teams and played a round robin. At the end, the top two teams were presented with gold and silver medals respectively. It was a good evening and the standard of basketball was impressive. Thanks to Liam our basketball coach for running the festival and for all of his excellent coaching. We hope to continue and build upon our link with West Brom Basketball Club next year. Well done to all involved this evening.

Partnership Rounders Champions

Wednesday, 4 July 2018

We brought a squad of 11 children to King Edwards Five Ways School for two games of rounders. Our children behaved brilliantly and Mr Ellicott even received an email from the teacher to say how impressed they were with us. We won our first game against St Michael’s 10-5 and following that, we also won against the Meadows 13-7. Congratulations to all who competed – we all had a great time and at the end several children received a badge for determination and¬† passion.

West Bromwich Community Athletics

Monday, 2 July 2018

We brought a squad of 12 children over to Tipton Sports Academy for an afternoon of athletics. All events were on the track consisting of 100m, 200m, 400m and the relay. All of our children did their best throughout, encouraging each other and showing excellent sportsmanship. The performance overall was impressive too with excellent baton changes and plenty of determined running. Our medalists on the day were Amelia with gold in the 100m, Eunice who was 3rd in the 200m, Efe was 1st in the 400m and our girls relay team won silver. Well done everyone and thanks to Mrs Hart for driving us there.
