Tuesday, 30 April 2019

To end the spring term,  a group of children went to watch the Worcester Warrior Ruby match. They also were given the opportunity to walk the players on to the pitch at the start of the game as mascots. During half time the team played tag rugby against another school and met some of the players after the game. It was a really lovely day and the children did us proud.

Year 4 create a buzz wire game

Friday, 12 April 2019

Children have enjoyed learning about electrical games and how they function in DT. To conclude the unit, class 4 have created a buzz wire game. They had to construct a circuit that included a battery, wires, a buzzer, copper, Blu tack and tape. The aim of the game is to navigate the wand along the wire frame form one end to the other without touching the wire; it requires a cool head and a steady hand.

Friday, 12 April 2019

During assembly today, Mr Masterson surprised the whole school with an Easter egg. The children’s outstanding work, behaviour and manners were celebrated. We are proud of all our children at St John Bosco!

The teachers were also given an Easter egg, which was a lovely surprise.

On behalf of St John Bosco we wish you all a Happy and Holy Easter!

Sandwell Basketball Finals

Thursday, 11 April 2019

Our basketball team had performed well to qualify for these finals, with over 30 teams entering from across Sandwell. Today saw a league played between the best 6 schools. We played well throughout against tough opposition and always remained in the games through hard work and good defending. Overall we won 2, drew 1 and lost 2. This was very positive for us. Unfortunately this left us just a point behind second place as we missed out on the medals. Well done to the team though who did Bosco proud.

Easter Bonnet Parade

Thursday, 11 April 2019

The children were very creative with their Easter Bonnets. All children who participated did a fabulous job at displaying their work during the parade. The competition was tough.

Two winners were picked from each class.

Thank you to all the parents who came along to support.

Stations of the Cross

Thursday, 11 April 2019

Class 5 did a brilliant job at leading the Stations of the Cross. They all read with great passion as we remembered the events that led up to the crucifixion of Jesus.

Thank you to those parents who came to support class 5.

Year 2 Visit Oak House

Wednesday, 10 April 2019

Class 2 had a wonderful day at local Sandwell museum, Oak House. We went there to learn more about the Great Fire of London and what life was like around 1666. It was an amazing day! The children loved it and learnt so much. They enjoyed the playground including sand and a pirate ship! Everyone dressed up a servants for the morning and learnt about all of the jobs that needed doing around such a large house. In the afternoon we discovered more about the fire and the diary entries of Samuel Pepys. The children’s behaviour was impeccable throughout the trip. A big well done to everyone and thank you to all of the adults who came along. A super day!
