Y2 Christmas Last Day

Thursday, 19 December 2019

All of the children have had a lovely last day before they break up for Christmas 2019.

They have played games like pass the parcel and pin the nose on the reindeer.

All of the children really enjoyed the day.

“I really enjoyed playing the games and colouring in the Christmas pictures.”

“It was so much fun and I wish we could do it all again!”

New Roles

Wednesday, 18 December 2019

Well done to the four Y6 pupils who have been given new roles for their hard work this term.

This photograph was taken in our new English Hub which the children were very excited to see. Remari said, “It’s better than amazing!”

Brushstrokes

Wednesday, 18 December 2019

Well done and thank you to all of the families who donated toys and tinned goods to Brushstrokes. This will be used for families around Sandwell who really need some extra help at this special time of year.

Christmas Concert at Holy Cross

Wednesday, 18 December 2019

The children did a fantastic job at re-telling the Christmas story. They remembered their parts and sang the hymns beautifully. Each class performed one of their own hymn and we had a special feature from the ukulele club. All the children did us proud. We had a brilliant turnout, thank you to everyone who came to support the children.

Worcester Warriors Women

Sunday, 15 December 2019

A few of our children took up the offer of free tickets to go and watch Worcester Warriors Women play against Waterloo at Sixways. Better than that, they got to be mascots for the day and also play tag rugby at half time along with another school attending, St John Fisher. It was a really enjoyable day. They loved being mascots, Warriors played brilliantly (winning 64-19), and the half time tag was great, with all of our children scoring at least one try!

Playing for Worcester was Taz, who has been coming into school recently for some coaching. It was great to see her in action and she spoke to our children at length after the game, helping to make the experience even better.

We will hopefully return later in the season, bringing more children along. Thank you to Taz and all at the Worcester Warriors, and well done to those who attended.

Christmas Fair Day

Friday, 13 December 2019

The whole school enjoyed a full day of fun and entertainment for our Christmas Fair. We were even lucky enough to receive a visit from Father Christmas, who was very generous with his time, meeting individual children. Activities on the day included face painting, karaoke and Christmas crafts. In the afternoon we all watched the film Nativity. The day raised lots of money and the children behaved well and enjoyed the day.

West Bromwich Basketball Festival

Thursday, 12 December 2019

We entered two teams into separate leagues for this enjoyable festival. It was held at George Salter Secondary and run by Liam and his team of volunteers at West Bromwich Basketball Club. We were also lucky to be joined by one of our families who helped with transport and took the photographer role for us on the evening too! A big thank you for this.

Our more experienced side proved to be by far the strongest team there on the evening, scoring plenty of baskets throughout and not conceding any at all! Therefore, they won the main trophy and gold medals. Meanwhile, our second team got better and better as the evening went on. They lost narrowly in their first game but went on to gain confidence and win their remaining fixtures to finish second in their league and take the silver medals.

Everyone played well and it is pleasing to see more and more children develop their skills and confidence. Well done everyone. Laces this week go to Simon and Olivier for their effort and determination. Congratulations to Victor as well, who was presented with a West Brom basketball vest for being a good team player and encouraging others.

Choir visits the library

Wednesday, 11 December 2019

Choir enjoyed singing Christmas carols to the community at the library. Everyone got into the Christmas spirt and joined choir with their singing. We had the chance to talk to everyone who came to watch. Thank you to the parents who came along to support us.
