KS1 Cricket Festival

Thursday, 27 February 2020

10 children from class 2 had a brilliant day out at Tipton Sports Academy, playing ‘rocket fuel’ cricket. They played 8 matches in total, having lots of fun. In all aspects of the game, they got better and better as the day went on. Their fielding was excellent and they learnt to hit the ball into different areas to score more runs. Well done to everyone for playing so well and thanks to Mrs Kaur for accompanying us.

Cat Weatherill Visit

We were fortunate enough to be joined today by author and story-teller, Cat Weatherill. She delivered a lively assembly, followed by story-telling and workshops with various classes throughout the day. Everyone had a fantastic day and learnt a lot. We are now keen to read more of Cat’s stories and complete follow up work. Thank you to Cat and well done everyone for great effort and behaviour.

The day ended with some fun games in the dark, followed by some time for reflection looking at the night sky, then a hot chocolate before bed. We look forward to our final morning and returning to see everyone tomorrow afternoon.

Worcester Warriors Women deliver Tag Rugby sessions

Sunday, 9 February 2020

Worcester rugby player Taz Bricknell has been delivering tag rugby lessons for children in classes 3, 4 and 5 over a period of 8 weeks as part of our Friday afternoon rotation activities. They have been great fun and all children have made great progress, becoming better players. Taz has been an excellent role model, particularly for our girls who may have future ambitions of becoming professional sports stars. For our final session this week, Taz also brought along Cerys Phillips, ex Wales captain, to assist too. A huge thank you to both players. We are enjoying our continued partnership with Worcester Warriors and are looking forward to more tag fixtures later in the year.
