St John Bosco Wow Moments

Tag Rugby Tournament

On Wednesday afternoon, a team of children from Years 5 and 6 headed over to Guns Village to take part in the West Brom Tag Rugby tournament. For most of them, it was their first tag rugby competition.

We got off to a cracking start winning the opening fixture 6-2, with tries from Elliot Hill (2), Elliot Butler, Josh Harris, Abbie Humphries and Dylan Harvey.

The second game was equally convincing. This team we beat Ryders Green 6-3 with tries from Elliot Hill (4) and Josh Harris (2).

Up to this point, Bosco had played really well, held their shape effectively and been quick on the break to score numerous tries.

In the final match of the tournament, we faced Guns Village. The winner of the match would top the league, win the competition and go on to represent West Bromwich in the Sandwell finals.

Guns Village were the current holders and a strong team. Bosco played extremely well to combat the quick, attacking play from their players and were drawing the match 3-3 with minutes remaining. A couple of controversial decisions went against us leading to Guns Village narrowly taking the lead and eventually winning the game.

Bosco played brilliantly and really did the school proud. We finished in second place and played with enthusiasm, skill, determination, passion and fair play.

Well done to the whole team; Elliot H, Elliot B, Dylan, Josh, Taylor, Abbie and Ellie.
