St John Bosco Wow Moments

Wembley Trip

A minibus full of children, parents and teachers headed down South to Wembley on Friday to watch England take on San Marino in a World Cup Qualifier.

We got there in time to see the England coach arrive so we saw the likes of Rooney, Carroll and Hodgson (though, sadly, none of them would wave back to us despite our enthusiastic welcome!).

For some of the children, it was there first ever trip to Wembley so they were very excited as we approached the stadium.

We got into the ground nice and early so had time to take photos and soak up the atmosphere before the match got under way.

The match was extremely one-sided though England took a while to break down their opposition, eventually managing to break the deadlock with a Rooney penalty. Ellie (our ICT wizard) took a great action shot of Rooney placing the ball for his spot kick.

The match finished 5-0 with 2 goals each from Rooney and Welbeck and one from Oxlade-Chamberlain. Everyone from Bosco really enjoyed the evening out as you can see from the faces of the children!

Hopefully, they’ll be many more Wembley trips to come!
