Girls’ Football Team become Sandwell Champions and Runners-Up

We entered two teams into an impressive 24 team competition at the WBA indoor dome. Our two teams were in separate groups and had 5 matches each to play. Our B team started well with two wins from their first three games. Two further draws against good opposition in their final group games were enough to qualify as runners-up. Meanwhile, our A team had an easy 4-0 win in their first game but then slipped to three straight draws. They then had to win their final group game, which they did, to qualify for the quarter finals too.

It was from this point that both our teams produced their best football. We dominated both our quarter-finals and semi-finals, winning each of these games without conceding a goal. This meant that St. John Bosco A played St. John Bosco B in the final! It was a good game with goals from Marnie and Eunice earning the A team the win. Huge congratulations though to all our girls who were superb throughout the competition. An incredible achievement for the school. Well done everyone!
