Bosco Boys are Football League Runners-Up

On Tuesday evening we played our final league game of the season. The league has featured 6 ‘small schools’, no bigger than one-form entry. Our last game was a top of the table clash. Both teams were guaranteed medals as we were well clear of third place. A draw was all we needed to win the league. We started brightly in the first few minutes, creating three good chances but finding their goal-keeper in good form. Against the run of play, they scored with their first attack. From that point they gained confidence and we lost our rhythm. By half time we were 3-0 down and struggling. The second half was better from us but we never really looked like getting back into it and they scored a fourth right at the end. Despite the disappointing display on the evening, the league as a whole has been a big success for us. This was our first defeat, and over the three evenings we met to play matches, we deserve to be league runners-up. Congratulations to our 13 strong squad which also includes Cayden, Obus and Hayden who were not involved this week.
