St John Bosco Catholic Primary School

Year 3 went on a trip to the  Black Country Museum as they had previously been learning about our local area in History. We learnt about how life was in the 1800s and onwards in the Black Country. We got to explore more about the Industrial Revolution and how it impacted people. We watched a mine gas show where we learnt all about different ways they used to detect that there was gas in the mines. As we walked around the site, we saw the world’s first steam engine, coal carts, a coal house and an old school, where we took part in what a typical lesson would look like in the 1800s. We had a fantastic time and we learnt so many new facts about the Black Country.
