St John Bosco Catholic Primary School

We had such a lovely time this week in Reception for our charity fundraising Bonfire event. All children took part in a variety of bonfire themed activities, including painting fireworks, role play, making bonfire pictures, making edible ‘sparklers’ and mark making firework shapes in glitter. For part of the afternoon, children wrapped up warm in their coats, hats, scrarves and gloves and went outside to watch their teachers light some sparklers. We then all gathered in front of our class board to watch a firework display. We wrapped up warm and even had some hot chocolate and marshmallows to enjoy!

We made edible ‘sparklers’ by dipping breadsticks in chocolate and adding sprinkles.

We made a ‘bonfire’ in class using different resources. We sat around it to keep warm.

We used logs and small world dolls to act out going to a bonfire night.

We went outside and watched our teachers light some sparklers.

We dressed up warm and watched fireworks on our big screen. We drank hot chocolate and marshmallows.

We made firework pictures using paint and cardboard.

We ate our ‘sparklers’ around the fire.

We made firework marks in the glitter.

We talked about the importance of staying safe around fire and staying close to our adults. All money raised will go towards our defibrillator. It was such a wonderful day!
