St John Bosco Wow Moments

Speedmark

St John Bosco Primary School in West Bromwich used their football skills to raise money for charity on Friday with the visit of the power goal from Speedmark. Each of the 220 pupils had raised sponsorship money for Fr Hudson’s Society appeal which enabled them to take 3 penalties into the special goal which measured the speed of each shot and win prizes including footballs, sports gear and ‘Match Attax’. With a lot of West Bromwich Albion fans among the children, it was clear they had been watching Chris Brunt against Liverpool as the quality of the shots were all superb. Following each penalty a screen at the back of the goal instantly gave the speed the ball had been kicked at and medals were awarded to the best boy and girl in each class. There were some very impressive results with the best boy being Owen Carter and best girl Chelsie Latham both from Year 6 with scores of 55MPH and 50MPH respectively. The best teacher with a score of 70MPH was Mr Edmunds, but he did have plenty of practice! Everyone agreed this was a fun way to end the term and raise money for a good cause at the same time. The Speedmark goal will be back at the summer fayre on Friday 1st July.
